It's important for us at Tangent to give back to our community. Whether by donating our expertise, services or staff time, we strive to assist local non-profit organizations in the best ways we can.
The Centre for Abuse & Trauma Therapy
The Centre for Abuse & Trauma Therapy is a charitable counselling agency in Kingston that provides affordable short- and long-term therapy to men, women and youth who have survived traumatic or abusive experiences. Serving Kingston and the surrounding area, the Centre's dedicated team of volunteers raise funds to support a sliding scale payment system, making therapy affordable to low income members of our community.
As a small and largely volunteer-driven organization, the Centre relies on donations and support from local businesses to help keep up to date with technology. Tangent has donated a web hosting and email solution, which provided a simple setup and an online calendar for therapists to share each other's schedules. Tangent has also donated printing services and volunteer staffing to help keep the Centre's educational event costs to a minimum.
St. Lawrence College
With campuses in three cities across eastern Ontario, St. Lawrence College serves a wide area of students in a diverse range of programs.
In support of our local college, and to provide students with an opportunity for hands-on work experience, Tangent accepts placement students from both computer programming and marketing related programs.
